About the artwork / The inspiration
The view from the atelier on the typical landscape of the Alentejo. The corkoak, as a central part, and the dryness of the summer are mainly ochre and the red-brown of the cork. The colors of the hills vary from ochre to dark green. The white-painted houses are in a distance of kilometers from each other, and the roads are unpaved.
Artistic Techniques & Materials
For getting more contrast and tension , I created three different parts of atmospheric views. The darker stroke on the left side gives more accent to the shapes of the stones and slices and contrasts with the branches, while the central and right part are light and nearly transparent. The sand structure with the fixed stones and slices has the intention to make it more vivid.
