About the artwork / The inspiration
This painting in oil pulls the eye on the snake and the surfaces on the right below. The lizard is nearly hidden by the dark red and ochre colors. The upper part of the painting is a contrast because of the light surface and the fragile flies.
Artistic Techniques & Materials
The parts painted in oil in a realistic way had to be in contrast because of the rough sand structure. The darker lines and colors intend to make shadows and the suggestion of stones and limestones.
