About the artwork / The inspiration
Traveling the United States of America, several Indian cultures gave the inspiration to realize impressions on paper and canvas. Especially the tribes of the Navajo Indians in Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah, with their rituals expressed in music and dance, made it to realize on canvas.
Artistic Techniques & Materials
The Ritual Dance is expressed with oil paint in sand and grey pencil lines, giving accent to the swing and swirl of the young couple. The colors are based on the natural colors of the deserts where the tribes are living.
